Code of Conduct

General Rule (Supersedes All Others)

At any time, Mid-Atlantic Anthropomorphic Association, Inc. (“MidAnthro”) may enforce the following:

Any action or behavior that significantly interferes with convention operations, causes excessive discomfort to other attendees, or negatively affects our relationship with our guests, venues, or the public is strictly prohibited. Violations may result in immediate and permanent suspension of attendee privileges.

Purpose & Conduct Expectations

The primary goal of our event is to create an enjoyable experience for all attendees. To maintain this atmosphere, we require all participants to adhere to our standards of conduct. These rules are intended to prevent disruptions and ensure that no individual or small group detracts from the relaxed, welcoming environment of the convention.

We welcome all individuals with an interest in anthropomorphic animals. However, MidAnthro reserves the right to deny, suspend, or revoke membership at any time, for any reason, including, but not limited to:

    • Concerns for the safety and well-being of attendees.
    • Individuals known to have been convicted of violent crimes or criminal abuse.
    • Any action that facilitates or assists an individual known to be banned from the event in gaining access to convention spaces.
    •

Any person found assisting a banned or otherwise unwelcome individual in gaining access to the convention will have their own attendance privileges revoked and may be denied admittance to future events.

Policy Amendments & Authority

MidAnthro reserves the right to modify these rules at any time without prior notice and retains sole authority in their interpretation and enforcement. In any dispute, the General Rule (above) shall apply.

If you have questions regarding these policies, please contact a Ranger Staff Member or event management for guidance.

Liability & Indemnification

By accepting a membership badge, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless MidAnthro, its events, staff, and volunteers from any claim of personal injury, property damage, or other liability arising from any individual’s actions at our events, even in cases of alleged negligence on the part of MidAnthro staff or volunteers.

Standards of Conduct

As a condition of membership, all attendees must abide by these conduct policies for the entire duration of their participation, including before Opening Ceremonies and after Closing Ceremonies.

Convention Rating & Age-Appropriate Content

  • The convention maintains a PG-13 rating in all public event spaces.
  • Certain events or exhibits that contain mature content will be marked accordingly and access will be restricted by Ranger staff to ensure compliance with age requirements.

We encourage attendees to consider the impact of their words and actions on others, the convention, and the broader community. If you find yourself questioning whether a behavior is appropriate, err on the side of caution or seek guidance from a staff member.

Badge Ownership & Staff Authority

  • Your convention badge remains the property of MidAnthro at all times.
  • Badges must be presented or surrendered to any MidAnthro staff member upon request.
  • If you disagree with any action taken by staff, you may escalate concerns to the Chief of Rangers or an event chair for review.
  •

Final Notes

These policies address worst-case scenarios and are in place to ensure the safety, comfort, and well-being of all attendees. They do not cover every possible situation, and in all cases, the General Rule will take precedence.

MidAnthro expects no issues, as we trust our members to be respectful, responsible, and rational adults.

Have fun – and please be courteous to those around you!
